Toronto Skyline Trichrome

Description
An infrared trichrome photograph of the Toronto skyline viewed across Lake Ontario from the southern end of Tommy Thompson Park. The CN Tower and downtown high-rises rise above a brilliant band of crimson infrared foliage, creating a vivid contrast with the blue water and expansive cloud-filled sky. Created from three separate exposures on infrared film and combined through red, green and blue channels, the relatively slow-moving clouds remain largely aligned while subtle colour separation records their movement between exposures. On the lake, a small moving sailboat separates into distinct coloured positions, quietly revealing the passage of time within the otherwise still cityscape. This fine art photograph combines infrared film photography, RGB trichrome technique and Toronto landscape photography to present a distinctive view of the city from the Lake Ontario shoreline.
