Description
An infrared trichrome photograph of two wind turbines beneath a dramatic, colour-separated sky. Created from three separate exposures on infrared film and combined through red, green and blue channels, the exposures were deliberately timed so that the blades of the foreground turbine align closely, making it appear nearly still within the finished image. The more distant turbine rotates out of phase with the foreground turbine, causing its blades to separate into distinct red, green and blue positions. The trichrome technique therefore allows the photographer to selectively suggest stillness or reveal motion within the same photograph, while movement between exposures also transforms the passing clouds into vivid layers of colour. This fine art photograph combines infrared film photography, RGB trichrome technique and wind turbine photography to explore motion, time and the relationship between three sequential moments captured in a single image.
