Description
An infrared trichrome photograph of two wind turbines beneath a dramatic cloud-filled sky, created from three separate exposures on infrared film and combined through red, green and blue channels. The exposures were deliberately timed to capture the foreground turbine at widely separated points in its rotation, spreading its blades into distinct coloured positions that form an almost wheel-like pattern around the hub. Rather than freezing the turbine at a single instant, the trichrome technique records successive moments of its rotation within one photograph, using intentional RGB colour separation to make motion visible. Movement of the clouds between exposures similarly divides the sky into vivid layers of red, green and blue, while infrared film renders the landscape in characteristic crimson tones. This fine art photograph combines infrared film photography, RGB trichrome technique and wind turbine photography to explore rotation, motion and the passage of time within a still image.
