Carnations

Description
A dramatic black-and-white study of carnations, photographed with an Olympus OM-1n on Ilford Delta 100 film. Strong directional light moves across the densely layered petals, revealing their intricate folds and delicate textures while allowing much of the arrangement to recede into shadow. Against the deep black background, the flowers emerge gradually from darkness, emphasizing light, form, and texture over colour.
