Osaka Castle

Description
Osaka Castle rises against an uninterrupted sky, its elaborate tiers reduced to a carefully ordered composition of repeating rooflines, symmetry and contrasting tones. Photographed in black and white with an Olympus OM-1n on Ilford Delta 100 film. The tightly framed view emphasizes the castle’s intricate architectural detail while allowing its sweeping eaves to form a strong geometric rhythm across the image. The restrained composition isolates the structure from its surroundings, presenting one of Osaka’s most recognizable landmarks less as a documentary view and more as a study of form, pattern and balance.
