Description
Photographed at the Kingston Marina in Kingston, Ontario during winter, this high-key black-and-white image reduces the snow-covered marina to a repeating pattern of docks, posts and lines. The snow and overcast sky merge into an almost uninterrupted field of white, while the exposed wooden docks create a strong rhythm that recedes toward a distant vanishing point. Photographed on Ilford FP4 Plus film with an Olympus OM-1n, the image uses negative space and repetition to transform a familiar waterfront scene into a minimalist, almost abstract landscape.
