Magnolia Decay - Assembly

Description
A fully skeletonized saucer magnolia leaf is surrounded by fragments of other leaves at varying stages of natural decomposition. While the central leaf has been reduced almost entirely to its intricate network of veins, the surrounding forms retain progressively greater amounts of their original tissue. Bringing several stages of decay into a single composition, the photograph concludes the Magnolia Decay sequence by placing its most skeletal form among the transformations that precede it. Photographed with a Hasselblad 500 C/M and 120mm Makro-Planar lens on Kodak T-MAX 400 film.
