Landing in Toronto at Night

Description
Photographed during a nighttime descent into Toronto, this long exposure transforms the city below into a field of restless light. Turbulence during the aircraft's approach causes buildings, streetlights and illuminated signs to trace irregular lines across the frame, dissolving the familiar skyline into colour and movement. At the upper right, the CN Tower remains recognizable despite being stretched into a luminous blue form, anchoring the abstraction unmistakably in Toronto. The resulting image records both the city and the physical movement of the aircraft above it, suspended somewhere between urban landscape and pure gesture.
