Power in Symmetry

Description
Photographed from directly beneath a transmission tower, this black-and-white image transforms industrial infrastructure into a study of geometry, repetition and symmetry. Steel beams converge toward the centre of the frame, forming a sequence of nested shapes that appear to recede into the distance, while insulators and power lines introduce subtle irregularities within the rigid structure. The stark white sky strips away the surrounding landscape, leaving the tower as an almost purely graphic arrangement of line and form. Photographed with a Hasselblad 500CM on Kodak T-MAX 400 film. This image was published in Black & White Magazine.
