Magnolia Decay V

Description
Only scattered remnants of leaf tissue remain across much of this naturally decayed saucer magnolia leaf. Its underlying network of veins now dominates the photograph, while the asymmetric orientation and surviving fragments preserve traces of the leaf’s former solidity. Decay has begun to transform the botanical subject into an intricate arrangement of line and texture. Photographed with a Hasselblad 500 C/M and 120mm Makro-Planar lens on Kodak T-MAX 400 film.
