Another Brick in the Wall

Description
At the entrance to Tommy Thompson Park, salvaged bricks and fragments of masonry are gathered behind a rigid wire grid, creating a dense interplay of geometry, texture and repetition. Built largely from construction material deposited during decades of Toronto’s waterfront development, the park has an unusual connection to the changing fabric of the city. In this image, the irregular forms of the discarded masonry become an ordered abstract pattern, transforming remnants of the city into a record of its own construction. Photographed with a Hasselblad 500CM on Kodak T-Max 400 film. This photograph was published in PhotoED's digital magazine.
